When Casey and I moved to Deep Ellum, I said there needed to be a donut shop. Well, a few weeks ago my dreams came true and Glazed Donut Works opened its doors.
Not only did we get a donut shop, but Glazed is deeply committed to quality. Granted, they tend to sell out because the donuts are so good plus the shop is cute to boot. If you haven’t been, you need to go. Like now.
I was lucky enough to sample a donut before opening day!
Glazed was open just in time to treat Casey to a very sugary birthday breakfast.
I waited in this line on the official grand opening day- how cute is that chalkboard! They converted an old photo studio and the look fits in perfectly with our neighborhood.
Welcome to Deep Ellum, Glazed Donut Works! I will definitely be seeing you often!
Giving gift cards sometimes can seem like such a cop out. Like I don’t know you well enough to give a real gift, but sometimes its inevitable.
The thing that probably gets me the most annoyed about gift cards is that they can look pretty plain. I saw this tiny craft paper bags and I couldn’t resist dressing them up for just the purpose of gift cards:
You could go a lot of different ways with these cute little bags! They are super inexpensive, I used stamps on this one and swapped out the plain handles for some cute blue baker’s twine. I would totally stuff it with some cute tissue, too!
I have a confession to make. I have a problem. I am addicted to Etsy.
I have loved Etsy for a long time (see the below of me and Casey attending a local bash), but I think it really skyrocket when i got married.
I got my invitations and save the dates and other items for that big day (I will say not every experience with a seller is positive, especially during such a stressful time. Give yourself plenty of time in case something goes awry – meaning you are crying to a Paper Source employee over the envelopes your seller failed to include. The sunny side is, I now have a friend at Paper Source.)
Anyways, not to be a downer! In fact, that’s the only time I’ve had an issue. I’ve become a devout Etsy shopper – It’s great to support small artists. Below are a few things on my wish list right now!
Who doesn’t need a faux gold bison skull?
This amazing modern cuckoo clock.
This adorable mint jewelry box.
These pencils are a nice reminder.
And finally to fuel my jewelry obsession, these amazing rings. (Hey, gotta have things to put in that cute jewelry box!)
